Adsense is an advertising company that is run by Google.inc. Google.inc earns a major share of its revenue by permitting other website owners to advertise on the pages of their search result. All this is handled by a program called AdWords. Those interested can earn a share of the revenue, which is earned by Google through AdWords, by showing these same text ads on their site. In other words, such people would be helping Google.inc in advertising and the company pays those people a percentage (approximately 60%) of what they earn. This program is known as AdSense.
Technically speaking, Google Adsense is a cost-per-click or CPC advertising program that permits anybody who wants to display ads on their websites to include a small amount of HTML into their sites and have advertisements appear that are related to the content of the site. Once the ad code is installed in a site, the Google Adsense spiders crawl into that particular site to see the content of the pages. Then they check their inventory of ads and place related ads next to each of the articles. This is favorable for everybody as a person reading an article on gardening is more likely to buy gardening tools than somebody who is reading an article about health care.
